Russia is set to expel British diplomats in retaliation for Prime Minister Theresa May’s decision to kick out 23 Russians as relations with London crashed to a post-Cold War low over an attack involving a military-grade nerve agent on English soil.

After the first known offensive use of such a weapon in Europe since World War II, May pointed the finger squarely at President Vladimir Putin and gave the 23 Russians, who she said were spies working under diplomatic cover at the London embassy a week to leave.

Russia has denied any involvement, cast Britain as a post-colonial power unsettled by Brexit, and even suggested London fabricated the attack in an attempt to whip up anti-Russian hysteria.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia could announce its response at any minute.

Britain, the U.S., Germany and France jointly called on Russia on Thursday to explain the attack. U.S. President Donald Trump said it looked as though the Russians were behind it.

A German government spokesman called the attack “an immense, appalling event’’.

Chancellor Angela Merkel said an EU summit next week would discuss the issue, in the first instance to seek clarity.

She added that any boycott of the soccer World Cup, which Russia would host in June and July, was not an immediate priority.

Russia has refused Britain’s demands to explain how Novichok, a nerve agent developed by the Soviet military, was used to strike down Sergei Skripal, 66, and his daughter Yulia, 33, in the southern English city of Salisbury.

But in an unexpected twist, Russian investigators said on Friday they had opened a criminal investigation into the attempted murder of Yulia Skripal and stood ready to cooperate with British authorities.

They also opened a murder investigation into the death of Nikolai Glushkov, a former associate of the late tycoon Boris Berezovsky.

Glushkov, 68, was discovered dead on Monday in south-west London. British police said they were treating Glushkov’s death as unexplained, but did not think it was linked to the attack on the Skripals.

Russian investigators offered some cooperation to British authorities after the 2006 London murder of ex-KGB agent Alexander Litvinenko too.

Britain said it was not enough though, and in 2016, a judge-led inquiry concluded that Putin had probably approved Litvinenko’s murder, something Moscow denies.

Britain has written to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague, which monitors compliance with the global convention outlawing the use of such weapons, to obtain independent verification of the substance used.

Skripal, a former colonel in the GRU, who betrayed dozens of Russian agents to British intelligence, and his daughter have been critically ill since March 4, when they were found unconscious on a bench.

A British policeman was also poisoned when he went to help them and remains in a serious but stable condition.

British investigators are working on the theory that an item of clothing or cosmetics or a gift in the luggage of Skripal’s daughter was impregnated with the toxin, and then opened in Skripal’s house in Salisbury, the Daily Telegraph said.

Putin, a former KGB spy, who is poised to win a fourth term in an election on Sunday, has so far only said publicly that Britain should get to the bottom of what has happened.

In a sign of just how tense the relationship has become, British and Russian ministers used openly insulting language while the Russian ambassador said Britain was trying to divert attention from the difficulties it was having managing its exit from the EU.

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said Britain’s quarrel was not with the Russian people but with the Kremlin.

“We have nothing against the Russians themselves. There is to be no Russophobia as a result of what is happening,” he said.

“Our quarrel is with Putin’s Kremlin, and with his decision – and we think it overwhelmingly likely that it was his decision – to direct the use of a nerve agent on the streets of the UK.’’

The Kremlin’s Peskov called the allegation that Putin was involved “a shocking and unforgivable breach of the diplomatic rules of decent behaviour”, TASS news agency reported.

British Defence Secretary, Gavin Williamson, sparked particular outrage in Moscow with his blunt comment on Thursday that “Russia should go away, it should shut up’’.

Russia’s Defence Ministry said he was an “intellectual impotent’’ and Lavrov said he probably lacked education. Williamson studied social science at the University of Bradford.

“Well he’s a nice man, I’m told, maybe he wants to claim a place in history by making some bold statements,” Lavrov said. “Maybe he lacks education, I don’t know.”

In London, opposition Labour Party leader, Jeremy Corbyn, struck a starkly different tone to that of the British government by warning against rushing into a new Cold War before full evidence of Moscow’s culpability was proven.

Corbyn added that Labour did not support Putin and that Russia should be held to account if it was behind the attack.

“That does not mean we should resign ourselves to a ‘new Cold War’ of escalating arms spending, proxy conflicts across the globe and a McCarthyite intolerance of dissent,” he said.

European Union leaders have said the Brexit withdrawal agreement is “not open for renegotiation”, after appeals from Theresa May.

The British PM travelled to Brussels to make a special plea to EU leaders at Thursday’s summit,

She wants legal assurances on the Irish backstop to help her deal get through Parliament, after she delayed a Commons vote in anticipation of defeat.

The PM said the deal was “at risk” if MPs’ concerns could not be addressed.

European Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker said there could be clarifications but no renegotiation.

He urged the UK to set out more clearly what it wants, adding that the commission will publish information on 19 December on its preparations for a no-deal Brexit.

“Our UK friends need to say what they want, instead of asking us to say what we want, and so we would like within a few weeks our UK friends to set out their expectations for us, because this debate is sometimes nebulous and imprecise and I would like clarifications,” he said.

An American woman has claimed in a video that habitual drinking of her dog’s urine has cured her depression and bad acne.

The unnamed woman who says many people have asked her about the secret of her stunning look, credited her dog’s urine for it.

“Many of you have asked me how I always look so good, how my makeup always looks so perfect, or how I always have this natural glow,” she said.

In the video the woman was seen using a plastic urine cup to collect her dogs urine before gulping it down her throat.

“Until I first drank my dog’s pee, I was depressed, I was sad, and I had bad acne,” she emphasises after emptying the cup.

“Dog pee also has vitamin A in it, vitamin E in it, and it has 10 grams of calcium, and it’s also proven to help cure cancer,” she claimed.

Daily Mail reported that experts have warned against drinking dog or human urine popularly known as the Urine therapy.

Joy McCarthy, a certified nutritionist told Allure that, “Urine is mostly made up of water, lots of urea, creatinine, various electrolytes, uric acid, trace proteins, and low levels of antibodies and enzymes.”

Urine can have a terrible impact on the health because of the toxins and acids they contain, experts have warned.

McCarthy said drinking urine from dogs poses more dangers to the human health because they contain Herbicides.

“Herbicides have been detected in dog’s urine, likely from herbicide-treated lawns, antibiotics, and hormones, so I really don’t know that it’s the safest choice,” she said.

She says that drinking urine from an animal could be an unsafe route for the body because what the liquid might contain.

It was gathered that drinking one’s urine was a therapy in ancient China, Greece, Egypt and Rome.

Nutritionist also corrected the popular misconception that drinking urine could come in hardy in survival situations to prevent dehydration.

US Army Field Manual instructs soldiers not to drink their urine because it may contain “harmful body waste”.

Dr Amy Shah have also dismissed the woman’s claim that drinking urine cures cancer.

During an interview with Mind Body Green, Shah said small amount of urine therapy could be beneficial for the body but she would not recommend it as a cure for any disease.

She said, “While most of urine is water, waste, and urea, I still cannot recommend this as a viable alternative to the many diseases it is touted to cure.

“We have more waste in our systems today than we did thousands of years ago.”

She said consuming body waste does the body more harm than good.

Girl says dog urine clears up skin acne and helps to cure cancer.

Israeli snipers have killed 37 Palestinians and wounded hundreds more as 35,000 protesters rallied against the US Embassy opening in Jerusalem overseen by Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy Jared Kushner and daughter Ivanka.

A 14-year-old was among 37 killed along the Gaza border on what is already the deadliest single day in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict since a 2014 war between the Jewish state and Gaza’s Islamist rulers Hamas.

At least 1,300 more have been injured with about 450 of them by live bullets, according to Gaza officials as the Palestinian government accused Israel of committing a ‘terrible massacre’ and Amnesty International called the bloodshed an ‘abhorrent violation’ of human rights.

This afternoon a White House delegation – including Ivanka Trump and her husband – gathered for an inauguration ceremony for the opening of the new embassy. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is also in the audience.

The US President tossed aside decades of precedent when he recognised the city as Israel’s capital in December – a decision that sparked global outcry, Palestinian anger and exuberant praise from Israelis.

Russia said today it feared the embassy opening would increase tension in the Middle East while Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdogan warned the US it had forfeited its role as a mediator in the region and was now ‘part of the problem rather than the solution’.

As deadly clashes broke out this morning, Trump, in a tweet, hailed the opening as ‘a great day for Israel’. Trump made no reference to the violence in an early morning tweet, instead inviting Twitter followers to watch live coverage of the embassy opening.
